Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, SDET

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and create automation frameworks and scripts, including selecting the appropriate tools and technologies, developing reusable components, and crafting test flows.

• Maintain and enhance test automation: Revise scripts to accommodate changes in the application, optimize test execution, and investigate new testing tools and methodologies.

• Establish an automation testing discipline within development and QA teams.

• Execute automated tests on the application, analyze results, and pinpoint any defects or issues.

• Collaborate closely with developers to comprehend application requirements, identify testable areas, and ensure that testability is taken into account during development.

• Document identified issues, monitor their status, and communicate effectively with development teams to ensure resolution.

• Conduct regression testing by executing tests following code modifications to confirm that new functionalities do not disrupt existing features.

• Document test plans and procedures by providing clear and concise documentation for test scripts, test cases, and overall testing strategies.

• Collaborate across functional areas with internal partner engineering teams in a disciplined agile environment.

• Actively engage with fellow engineers to ensure that we deliver tools that facilitate product development.

• Communicate, coordinate, and align automation strategies with engineering team members, making recommendations to enhance reliability, performance, best practices, and processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of experience with Automated Testing frameworks.

• Proficiency and experience with testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or Cucumber are essential for automating tests.

• Expertise in scripting languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript to write and maintain test automation scripts.

• Understanding various testing types (e.g., unit testing, integration testing, regression testing) is crucial for developing effective test strategies.

• A foundational understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and coding practices is beneficial for collaborating with development teams.

• Strong communication skills are essential for working with development teams, reporting issues, and providing feedback.

• The capability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues during testing is vital for ensuring software quality.

• Experience in debugging both front-end and backend applications, with an understanding of data payloads exchanged.

• You possess strong analytical skills and are a problem solver.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and learning from seasoned developers.

• Experience in a start-up company is preferred.

• Background in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of developers, product managers, and system administrators.
