Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, SDET

📋 Description

• Engineer Automated Tests: Design, develop, and implement tests that deliver clear feedback, scale seamlessly with the services being tested, and are enjoyable to maintain.

• Cross-Functional Partnership: Foster strong working relationships across Engineering, Product, AI, and Customer-facing teams. Serve as a trusted quality partner to help balance speed, reliability, and user experience.

• Operational Excellence: Enhance quality metrics within your feature teams and throughout the engineering organization.

• Secure & Compliant Development Support: Ensure that engineering practices effectively support secure software development and uphold high standards regarding sensitive and regulated data environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong Test Engineering Expertise: Extensive experience in software quality engineering, encompassing test strategy, automation frameworks, debugging, exploratory testing, and contemporary QA methodologies.

• Hands-On Technical Capability: Proficient in contributing actively as an individual contributor while also leading a team. Capable of reviewing architecture, gaining a deep understanding of systems, and closely collaborating with engineers on technical quality initiatives.

• Startup/Growth-Stage Experience: Demonstrated success in delivering results within fast-paced startup or growth-stage SaaS environments where processes are in flux and teams must balance speed with quality.

• AI-Assisted QA Workflow Experience: Skilled in utilizing modern AI tools and agents to enhance QA productivity, including generating test plans, expediting automation, and improving testing workflows.

• Technical Curiosity & Systems Thinking: Strong aptitude for comprehensively understanding application architecture, APIs, backend systems, and engineering trade-offs. Preference for candidates who thrive in open-source-oriented engineering environments.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Exceptional communication and partnership skills with Engineering, Product, and leadership stakeholders.

• Experience Working with Secure Data: Knowledgeable in operating within environments that involve sensitive or regulated data and adhering to secure development practices.
