Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and spearhead the testing strategy across unit, integration, API, UI, and data-validation testing layers.

• Create, construct, and sustain scalable automated testing frameworks for web applications, APIs, backend services, and data pipelines.

• Embed automated testing within CI/CD workflows to ensure rapid feedback, reliable quality gates, and consistent release confidence.

• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and QA team members to integrate quality into features from design to delivery.

• Guide engineers and participate in establishing testing standards, automation practices, and code quality expectations.

• Design and implement AI-driven workflows that automate testing, failure analysis, reporting, and engineering operations.

• Examine quality metrics to identify risks, enhance test coverage, minimize flakiness, and boost automation effectiveness.

• Assess and introduce tools, frameworks, and engineering practices that elevate software quality, reliability, and delivery speed.

• Cultivate an understanding of the platform and product, set up development/testing/automation environments, and evaluate testing strategy, coverage, pipelines, and risks.

• Assume responsibility for test automation in a critical product area, implement enhancements, propose a testing roadmap, and contribute to mentorship and best practices.

• Direct testing strategy and automation projects, establish quality metrics and testing standards, lead technical discussions, and deliver an AI-driven or agentic automation workflow.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Software Development, Test Automation, Software Quality Engineering, or a similar technical field.

• Proficient in programming with Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing automated testing frameworks for web, API, backend, or data-intensive applications.

• Familiarity with building, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools.

• Solid understanding of API testing, distributed systems, and data validation methodologies.

• Advanced SQL proficiency with experience in validating databases, data pipelines, ETL, or ELT processes.

• Experience utilizing or implementing AI-driven tools, automation workflows, agentic systems, or LLM-powered engineering solutions.

• Excellent communication, mentorship, collaboration, and technical leadership abilities.

• Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher.
