Senior Software Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

• Spearhead the design, development, and execution of cutting-edge digital solutions that enhance member experiences.

• Design and construct cloud-native, microservices-oriented applications.

• Utilize event-driven architecture, contemporary technology stacks, and emerging AI innovations.

• Partner with teams across Digital, Data and Analytics, and Platform Engineering.

• Influence technical direction and drive digital engineering initiatives.

• Provide mentorship to peers while collaborating with architects and product teams.

• Convert business needs into scalable and maintainable solutions.

• Manage the entire software lifecycle, from design to deployment and ongoing operations.

• Foster innovation and tackle complex engineering challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering, concentrating on enterprise-level digital solutions.

• At least 3 years of practical experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

• Strong expertise in asynchronous programming and server-side application development.

• Minimum of 2 years in building and deploying cloud-based solutions, particularly with AWS.

• Experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable, maintainable microservices-based applications.

• Proficient in unit testing, integration testing, and code review methodologies.

• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch, and MongoDB, including data modeling and query optimization.

• Familiarity with event-driven services and architectures, message brokers, and event streaming platforms like Apache Kafka.

• Experience in creating RESTful APIs, including middleware implementation and routing using frameworks like Express.

• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL database technologies, including cloud-native database services.

• Awareness of emerging AI technologies and their practical applications in software development.

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

• Alternatively, a high school diploma with 4 years of relevant work experience is acceptable.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Preferred: Knowledge of serverless architectures and cloud-native design patterns.

• Preferred: Familiarity with open-source frameworks and modern development tools.

• Preferred: Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.

• Preferred: Skills in cross-functional teamwork, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and both verbal and written communication.
