Senior Software Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical design, modernization, and implementation of Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management and Billing systems.

• Transform legacy architectures into distributed cloud microservices, real-time messaging pipelines, and high-throughput data/API integrations.

• Design and build solutions for claims processing and invoicing systems.

• Utilize Azure SQL Managed Instance, Postgres, Snowflake, Kafka, Azure Service Bus, Azure Data Factory, Terraform, Kargo/Argo, and New Relic.

• Develop engineering best practices and advocate for clean code and thorough system documentation.

• Promote test automation initiatives.

• Guide Associate Software Engineers and perform code reviews.

• Collaborate with product leaders and solution architects to deliver robust, secure, and HIPAA-compliant healthcare software.

• Work independently with minimal supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience in creating scalable enterprise applications.

• Strong expertise in at least one backend programming language, such as C#/.NET, Python, Java, TypeScript, or Go.

• Practical experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance, Postgres, and Snowflake.

• Familiarity with Kafka and Azure Service Bus messaging architectures.

• Experience using Azure Data Factory.

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code principles using Terraform.

• Experience with GitOps deployment tools like Kargo and Argo CD/Argo Workflows.

• Proficient with enterprise APM and observability platforms such as New Relic.

• Strong technical writing skills with experience in creating system documentation, technical designs, API specifications, and operational runbooks.

• Proven experience in mentoring Associate-level software engineers and conducting code reviews.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related STEM field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Preferred: hands-on experience with AI coding tools.

• Preferred: knowledge of Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management, claims management, invoicing platforms, cloud modernization, HIPAA, HITRUST, data masking, and secure handling of PHI.
