Senior Software Developer, IIoT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Manufacturing, IT, and Engineering teams to create solutions that allow manufacturing facilities to track their equipment and processes for ongoing enhancements.

• Play an essential role in identifying critical data points from shop floor machinery to showcase software performance indicators that enhance productivity, uptime, and efficiency.

• Utilize PTC KepWare and ThingWorx, focusing on Digital Performance Management.

• Transform strategies into actionable steps by connecting live OPC tags and designing custom screens in ThingWorx and DPM.

• Partner with Manufacturing IT and business stakeholders to empower manufacturing plants in achieving continuous improvements through TEEP and OEE insights.

• Early identification of relevant software risks, adapting swiftly using the Scrum framework.

• Design end-to-end IIoT solutions that utilize the ThingWorx platform for real-time data gathering, analysis, and visualization.

• Develop applications, including user interfaces and Mashups, to present data, monitor assets, and facilitate operational workflows.

• Implement industrial connectivity solutions, typically using Kepware, and integrate with existing enterprise systems via REST APIs and other protocols.

• Configure and oversee the ThingWorx platform, managing users, infrastructure, and ensuring optimal performance and scalability.

• Offer technical guidance, mentor teams, and ensure the successful execution and deployment of IIoT projects.

• Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in implementing industrial automation and/or IoT solutions for data contextualization, or similar experience.

• At least 2 years of experience with PTC ThingWorx, PTC Kepware, OSIsoft PI AF, or comparable platforms.

• 2 years of database experience with MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL.

• 2 years of experience with software version control and release management.

• 2 years of experience in Kepware and industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, and Modbus.

• Familiarity with ThingWorx platform capabilities, including Mashups, data modeling, and extensions.

• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in ThingWorx development, including JavaScript and Python.

• Experience in designing and developing system integrations using REST APIs.

• Knowledge of full-stack development and Agile software development methodologies.
