Senior Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architecture, design, development, and enhancement of enterprise applications

• Independently create comprehensive enterprise application architectures

• Establish technical architecture, system integration approaches, and application roadmaps

• Design solutions that are scalable, secure, highly available, and cloud-native

• Produce artifacts for application, integration, deployment, and data architecture

• Assess technologies and suggest architecture patterns and frameworks

• Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture, security, and governance standards

• Facilitate technical design reviews and architecture discussions

• Create, develop, and sustain enterprise web applications

• Construct scalable backend services utilizing Node.js, Python, and Java

• Develop modern frontend applications using JavaScript and current frameworks

• Conduct code reviews and set development standards

• Mentor developers and encourage engineering best practices

• Design and implement solutions on AWS cloud

• Create RESTful APIs and microservices, focusing on standards, governance, authentication, authorization, and documentation

• Integrate enterprise systems with third-party platforms

• Design relational database architectures and craft optimized SQL solutions

• Execute data modeling, indexing, and performance optimization

• Support database modernization and migration projects

• Develop and deploy applications in a containerized environment

• Advocate for Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment practices

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and security scanning

• Promote secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles

• Assist with automated deployments and release management

• Utilize AI tools for code generation, documentation, testing, debugging, and modernization

• Assess emerging AI technologies and integrate them into engineering workflows

• Design and support GIS-enabled enterprise applications

• Integrate mapping services and geospatial data

• Develop location-aware solutions where applicable

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise software development

• 5+ years of experience independently designing enterprise application architectures

• Capability to lead the technical design of intricate, large-scale systems

• Strong proficiency in AWS cloud-native application development

• Extensive experience with Node.js, Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL

• Significant experience in developing RESTful APIs and microservices

• Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration technologies

• Solid understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software development practices

• Experience in mentoring development teams and spearheading technical initiatives

• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
