Senior Software Design Engineer in Test (SDET)

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Facilitate High-Quality Code Delivery: Implement quality practices that empower delivery teams to effortlessly produce higher-quality code by incorporating robust testing strategies into their workflows.

• Engage in Validation Testing Sessions: Lead round-table discussions with delivery engineers and product owners to conduct validation testing before the release of new code, acting as an interim solution while enhancing automation processes for a more efficient long-term approach.

• Develop Automation Frameworks: Create frameworks that enable the automation of testing procedures.

• Monitor and Analyze Testing Coverage: Gain a thorough understanding of each software module's features, product test cases, and align these with unit, integration, and other testing types to ensure comprehensive test coverage that aligns with product objectives.

• Design and Integrate Tests: Create and incorporate tests across the complete technology stack, which includes UI, API, and database layers, while also supporting performance, security, and stress testing initiatives.

• Create Scalable Test Frameworks: Design and uphold reusable, scalable test automation frameworks that streamline testing processes and minimize manual effort for delivery teams.

• Champion Shift-Left Testing: Advocate for early testing practices within the development lifecycle, allowing teams to detect and rectify defects sooner and lower overall development costs.

• Mentor and Support Teams: Offer technical mentorship and guidance to engineers, nurturing a quality-driven culture and continuous improvement across delivery teams.

• Provide Actionable Quality Metrics: Define and monitor key quality metrics, offering delivery teams and stakeholders insights to enhance software reliability and performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in testing mobile (mandatory) and web applications.

• In-depth understanding of the iOS and Android development ecosystem (including testing and debugging) is required.

• Strong skills in software architecture, design, and workflow management.

• A proactive attitude with the ability to continuously identify and address testing challenges.

• Experience with build and CI tools (Swift PM, GitHub Actions).

• Proven ability to meet ambitious goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in frameworks such as XCTest, Appium, or other mobile testing tools for Mobile Test Automation.

• Advanced experience with k6 or similar tools for load and performance testing.

• Knowledge of Pact or similar tools for validating API and microservice interactions for Contract Testing.

• Practical experience integrating testing workflows into GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD systems.

• Familiarity with mocking and stubbing libraries and services (e.g., WireMock, Mockito, testcontainers) for Backend Testing.

• Proficiency with tools like Postman, REST Assured, or Swagger/OpenAPI-based test generation for API Testing.

• Strong knowledge of Git and GitHub workflows for collaborative development.

• Experience with Allure, TestNG, or similar frameworks to track test results and provide actionable insights.
