Senior Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Architect, develop, test, and deploy modifications to software, services, and tools that facilitate team-driven hardware platforms.

• Design and implement improvements to observability infrastructure to proactively identify and resolve issues before they affect customers.

• Cultivate subject matter expertise in team components and provide mentorship to team members.

• Identify and apply automation best practices for current products and processes.

• Collaborate with support, operations, and engineering teams to explore and resolve complex issues.

• Engage in on-call rotations and lead the restoration and repair efforts for service-affecting problems.

• Work with Akamai Cloud hypervisor host technologies, encompassing both bare-metal and VM hardware and software infrastructure platforms.

• Collaborate with Compute Linux kernels, operating systems, KVM/QEMU virtualization layers, guest images, and hardware teams on new data center hardware initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Advanced knowledge of Linux internals, system administration, and the activation of advanced hardware features in Linux.

• Proficient in the Linux kernel, operating systems, KVM/QEMU, and nested virtualization.

• Expertise in designing, developing, and deploying software and infrastructure at scale.

• Advanced engineering experience with large-scale distributed systems.

• Familiarity with SaltStack, Ansible, Kubernetes, Chef, or Puppet for managing infrastructure at scale.

• Experience with ARM architectures, such as NVIDIA Grace.
