Senior Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Develop, test, and deploy modifications to automation, software, services, and tools managed by the HIVE team.

• Design and execute improvements to the HIVE observability infrastructure.

• Proactively identify and resolve issues before they affect customers.

• Engage with new tools, coding, and environments, automating wherever feasible.

• Create supportive tools utilizing Ansible or profiling to facilitate performance investigations.

• Attain subject matter expertise across various components of the Compute environment.

• Collaborate with support, operations, and engineering teams to analyze and troubleshoot intricate problems.

• Detect performance bottlenecks and develop supporting tools for investigations.

• Partner with kernel and hardware teams to validate newer kernels and operating systems on fresh server builds.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.

• Extensive knowledge of Linux internals, system administration, and core hardware.

• Familiarity with best practices for activating advanced hardware features in Linux.

• Advanced proficiency with the Linux kernel, operating systems, KVM/QEMU, and nested virtualization.

• Expertise in designing, developing, and deploying software and infrastructure at scale.

• Significant engineering experience with large-scale distributed systems.

• Experience with SaltStack, Ansible, Kubernetes, Chef, or Puppet for managing large-scale infrastructure.
