Senior Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and oversee applications and infrastructure that support Akamai's Compute products and services.

• Develop solutions that enhance observability and uphold SLAs across various internal teams.

• Collaborate effectively with operations and application development teams.

• Create tools and software that monitor and enhance system reliability.

• Tackle complex challenges through proactive troubleshooting, automation, and systems programming.

• Deploy and maintain the observability platform and internal tools.

• Partner with various teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and usability of products and services.

• Provide guidance to engineers and developers in evaluating service performance.

• Work alongside support, operations, and engineering teams to investigate and resolve intricate issues.

• Release new applications and modernize existing tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or a comparable engineering position.

• Proficiency in Linux system administration.

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing/switching, and storage concepts.

• Practical experience with containerized environments and Kubernetes, including the operation and troubleshooting of production systems.

• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices.

• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Git, Prometheus, and Grafana.

• Experience in Infrastructure as Code and configuration management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, SaltStack, or similar.

• Exposure to cloud storage systems.

• Automation/scripting abilities in Python, Bash, Go, Rust, or similar programming languages.
