Senior Site Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead quality initiatives at customer installation locations, addressing and resolving issues through structured quality methodologies.

• Supervise up to three Symbotic installation sites concurrently.

• Train and manage a dedicated local Quality Control resource at each location.

• Ensure quality surveillance and inspections are performed and communicated effectively.

• Monitor installation partners to ensure adherence to installation processes and critical-to-quality standards.

• Plan, execute, and manage quality activities in collaboration with suppliers and customer locations.

• Utilize 8-D corrective action requests for root cause analysis and the development of corrective/preventive actions.

• Communicate operational issues and drive effective problem resolution in a closed-loop manner.

• Assist in the disposition of non-conforming materials and the qualification of new materials/processes.

• Apply Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to enhance quality and processes.

• Analyze product failures and formulate corrective and preventive measures.

• Mentor and coach quality personnel on-site.

• Travel frequently, up to 75% of the time.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.

• At least 10 years of experience in Quality Engineering within a regulated manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency in quality management principles, tools, and methods, including FMEA, DOE, MSA, GRR, and 8D.

• Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, with the skill to translate findings into actionable business strategies.

• Experience collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Development Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.

• Solid understanding of process engineering fundamentals and the ability to identify critical control points.

• Strong project management and teamwork abilities with a track record of establishing and meeting challenging timelines.

• Capacity to develop and maintain productive relationships across various functions.

• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Familiarity with Control Plans, FMEA, and PPAP or equivalent part approval processes.

• Analytical problem-solving skills utilizing root-cause analysis techniques such as 8D and A3.

• Experience with reliability methods and failure mode analysis, including DFMEA and PFMEA.

• Knowledge of statistical process control software such as SAA, Minitab, JMP, and MATLAB.

• Advanced Excel skills for data organization and analysis.

• Proven experience in influencing and driving corrective actions with large global suppliers.

• Valid driver’s license with the capability to travel to client and customer sites via driving and/or flying.

• Willingness to work approximately 75% of the time at construction sites.

• Ability to use necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety vests, steel-toed boots, eyeglasses, ear protection, and fall protection gear.

• Capability to work at heights up to 45 feet and in confined spaces of 24 inches.

• Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Willingness to work in environments with temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.

• Must adhere to safety standards and protocols, including lockout/tagout and fall protection measures.
