This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the multi-quarter technical roadmap for radar, lidar, and thermal modeling.
• Develop physically accurate sensor models with a primary focus on radar technology.
• Establish the metrics and methodology to assess how closely our outputs align with measured reality.
• Analyze the impact of weather and environmental factors on sensor fidelity.
• Broaden the validation process across the entire sensor suite, including cameras.
• Collaborate with perception and machine learning teams to convert real-world perception failure modes into prioritized fidelity requirements.
• Offer technical guidance to engineers working in this domain.
• Proven experience in developing simulation, sensor modeling, or computational physics software that has been deployed and relied upon.
• Strong foundation in physics, applied physics, or electrical engineering.
• Experience in radar signal processing, automotive or industrial radar, or a closely related RF/electromagnetics background.
• Profound understanding of the physics behind one or more sensing modalities — radar/RF, lidar, thermal/infrared, or electro-optical.
• Proven track record of validating models against real measured sensor data and carefully analyzing accuracy, errors, and the insights discrepancies provide.
• Must possess strong skills in writing, debugging, and enhancing performance-sensitive code in modern C++.
• Ability to establish direction, not just follow it.
• Comfortable transitioning between discussions on physics, implementation, and roadmap planning.
