Senior Security Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Lead security initiatives that support business operations while safeguarding customers, brand reputation, and staff.

• Analyze security trends and incidents to implement effective security measures based on lessons learned.

• Conduct security assessments of infrastructure and product functionalities.

• Revise policies and procedures to uphold stringent security standards.

• Enhance detection and response capabilities across various environments and systems.

• Monitor and drive the resolution of vulnerabilities in both production and corporate settings.

• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure prompt issue resolution.

• Provide security training and keep staff informed about emerging security threats.

• Serve as an escalation point for automated detections that necessitate human assessment.

• Actively search for threats within the environment.

• Participate in regular on-call responsibilities, including acting as incident commander during security events.

• Confirm that security controls are implemented and tested across cloud platforms and corporate endpoints.

• Streamline security operations through automation using Tines.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6 - 8+ years of experience in a security role overseeing complex cloud environments.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Profound knowledge of cloud security, including the deployment, management, security, and monitoring of services in AWS.

• Familiarity with securing container technologies such as Docker, AWS ECS, and Kubernetes.

• Proficient in AWS security management and monitoring tools like CloudTrail, GuardDuty, CloudWatch, Security Hub, Inspector, and Config.

• Experience in implementing and monitoring security controls aligned with frameworks like SOC2, ISO, CMMC, and FedRamp.

• Background in automating security processes with SOAR tools and/or programming languages like Python or Go.

• Understanding of command-line usage, log analysis, common attack vectors, and operating system hardening for Linux and macOS.

• Experience participating in an on-call rotation within a dynamic environment.

• Strong analytical and time management abilities, capable of working independently or collaboratively with team members.
