This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Oversee security events and conduct technical analysis on alerts.
• Lead the response strategy for information security incidents and employee investigations until closure.
• Provide ongoing updates to key stakeholders during investigations.
• Offer clear and concise security guidance for incident response and initiatives related to insider threats.
• Coordinate the development of services, capabilities, integrations, and technology implementations that support security operations, incident response, and insider threat activities.
• Create and maintain runbooks and automated workflows.
• Assist in refining and implementing processes.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and key stakeholders on security initiatives across the company.
• Mentor and train security operations engineers in data collection, analysis, and technical reporting.
• Promote Samsara’s cultural principles as the company expands globally and opens new offices.
• Over 5 years of experience in Security Incident Response.
• Capability to communicate investigative findings and strategies to technical staff, executive leadership, and legal teams.
• Proficiency in Python with the ability to develop scripts or tools for investigation processes.
• Ability to mentor and train security operations engineers in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Practical experience in leading security incident responses, including the monitoring and triaging of alerts and coordinating across teams.
• Understanding of analysis and forensics techniques on macOS, Windows, and Linux systems.
• Experience with SIEM tools for log reviews.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture and security, specifically with AWS and GCP, as well as cloud-based services.
• Must reside in the Pacific, Mountain, or Central Time Zone of the United States or Canada.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in insider threat initiatives or employee investigations is preferred as an ideal qualification.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or relevant industry experience is preferred as an ideal qualification.
• GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) Certification is preferred as an ideal qualification.
• Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP is preferred as an ideal qualification.
