Senior Security Engineer I, Product Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the security throughout the software development life cycle, from initial design to final implementation.

• Assist in the architecture, construction, testing, and deployment of Oscar’s application security systems and methodologies.

• Create security protocols for AI-driven workflows, incorporating security evaluations into AI agent operations.

• Manage the vulnerability lifecycle, including automated detection using SAST/DAST, along with manual analysis and tracking of remediation efforts.

• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and offer technical advice.

• Perform source code evaluations for both internal and external software.

• Develop high-quality production code and libraries for engineering teams.

• Establish risk assessment frameworks and present actionable plans.

• Assist engineering teams in addressing or migrating vulnerabilities.

• Present software security topics to the engineering team.

• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.

• Report directly to the Manager of Product Security.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of combined experience in software development and information security.

• Proven expertise in all aspects of the Secure Software Development Life Cycle.

• Strong experience in developing moderately to highly complex standalone systems or significant new features.

• Practical experience with AI models and their integration with internal systems through protocols like the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

• A Bachelor's degree or four years of equivalent professional experience.

• Previous experience or knowledge of security challenges unique to the healthcare or health insurance sectors.
