Senior Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee security solutions that encompass products, internal applications, infrastructure, enterprise systems, and observability.

• Conduct threat modeling for both current systems and new product initiatives.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security within development and delivery workflows.

• Develop, enhance, and automate alerts, detections, observability tools, and response workflows utilizing AI and agents.

• Engage in incident response and take a leadership role as part of the on-call rotation.

• Assist in governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI.

• Mentor engineers and disseminate security best practices.

• Establish security priorities and define the technical direction.

• Build and maintain relationships with both internal stakeholders and external security vendors.

• Advance Shakepay’s AI platform, security capabilities, and observability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in security engineering, software engineering, or a related technical field, with considerable security expertise.

• Strong technical proficiency in one or more areas of security, with the capability to contribute across related domains.

• Advanced practical experience with AI tools, agents, and automation applied to security engineering.

• Experience in cloud environments, preferably AWS.

• Practical experience with incident response and participating in on-call rotations.

• Exceptional communication skills, sound technical judgment, and a strong sense of ownership.

• Fluency in English is required.
