Senior Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish the hardware and embedded security foundation and protocol across Motive devices, encompassing boot chain, firmware, FOTA, and manufacturing.

• Cultivate relationships with hardware engineering teams to ensure that findings are prioritized, verified, and addressed.

• Identify and evaluate hardware security vulnerabilities throughout the product lifecycle, including design, manufacturing, deployment, updates, and decommissioning.

• Lead hardware security architecture evaluations, threat modeling, and security assessments for product systems.

• Define and assess security requirements for hardware platforms, embedded systems, firmware interfaces, boot processes, debugging capabilities, and device lifecycle controls in cloud-connected settings.

• Champion comprehensive security for device hardware across IoT and cloud security frameworks.

• Collaborate with Engineering and Hardware teams as the main Security partner.

• Develop scalable secure-by-default libraries, services, frameworks, and components.

• Influence security measures and advance the hardware security initiative.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Hardware Security, including embedding security by design principles into new devices and platforms.

• More than 5 years of experience collaborating with product teams to create security designs and establish security requirements.

• At least 5 years of hands-on development experience with programming languages including Python and C/C++.

• Strong comprehension of hardware root of trust, secure boot, attestation, key protection, device identity, and secure provisioning concepts.

• Proven hands-on experience in designing, reviewing, and validating security controls for hardware and low-level system architectures.

• Familiarity with cloud security, runtime security, supply chain security, and best practices in application security.

• Must be authorized to receive and access commodities and technologies regulated under U.S. Export Administration Regulations.

• Must be authorized to gain access to Motive products and technology.
