
Senior Security Engineer – Add-ons Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Implement significant features and architectural enhancements throughout the Add-ons stack, which includes automated moderation pipelines, Reviewer tools, and DevHub.
• Develop comprehensive observability systems and generate data-driven insights.
• Offer constructive peer feedback, impart knowledge, and assist in the growth of others.
• Enhance platform reliability through effective deployments, monitoring, and incident management.
• Ensure the platform remains secure and trustworthy, prioritizing security and user confidence.
• Intervene to address issues affecting users and developers, ranging from minor bugs to major incidents.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, QA, and community contributors to implement end-to-end enhancements.
• Engage in open contributions through pull requests, code reviews, and discussions.
• Focus on:
• Full stack development: React/TypeScript frontends, Django backend, MySQL datastore.
• Platform reliability: deployments, monitoring, and incident management on Google Cloud.
• Feature development: submission processes, trust and safety indicators, and modernization of DevHub and Reviewer tools.
• Ecosystem moderation: management of abuse reports, adherence to policies, and ensuring ecosystem safety.
• Open collaboration: We operate transparently, welcoming contributions from both Mozilla staff and community participants.
• Proven experience in developing modern web applications.
• Extensive experience with Python/Django or comparable backend frameworks.
• Knowledge of web security principles and best practices.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills in a remote team setting.
