Cyber Operations Engineer, Senior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Oversee multi-step breach investigations and analysis of advanced threats.

• Act as a mentor and escalation resource for fellow analysts.

• Collaborate directly with cyber threat intelligence to transform insights into actionable detection.

• Partner with security teams to develop and enhance monitoring use cases.

• Tackle complex tasks assigned by leadership, which may require coordination among Level 1, 2, and 3 analysts.

• Organize evidence and data gathering, documentation, and review Security Incident reports.

• Determine the root cause of incidents and implement proactive mitigation strategies.

• Establish necessary security controls and processes, enforcing them through policy documentation, standards, education, awareness, and risk assessments.

• Monitor external regulatory mandates and assist with compliance and certification efforts.

• Apply a defense-in-depth strategy to support the overall cyber security risk posture of the enterprise.

• Create and refine CSIRT processes and procedures in collaboration with Level 2 and Level 1 Analysts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year institution in Information Technology, Information Security/Assurance, Engineering, or a related field is required.

• At least 3 years of technical experience in Incident Response and Management.

• Skilled in providing leadership and technical support to Level I & II Security analysts within a SOC environment.

• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in utilizing SIEM technologies for event investigation.

• Experience with incident handling and response techniques in a cloud-based environment, such as Azure.

• Familiarity with audit requirements (PCI, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).

• Possession of any SANS Certification and/or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) credential.

• Certified Incident Handler (GCIH).

• Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA).

• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
