Senior Scrum Master

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Lead the team in Scrum practices and the Agile Manifesto; facilitate essential ceremonies (stand-ups, planning, reviews, retrospectives) in a hands-off manner—emphasizing inquiry and facilitation instead of directing or completing tasks.

• Foster self-managing teams, establishing a secure environment that encourages teams to learn from failures and enhance their performance, aiming for self-sufficiency within a few months.

• Collaborate in a co-empowering partnership with the Product Owner, guiding them on agile principles, backlog prioritization, and value creation.

• Take ownership of agile metrics to reveal insights that promote continuous improvement; utilize data evidence to constructively challenge unrealistic delivery timelines and safeguard team flow.

• Manage stakeholders under executive observation, confidently navigating defined escalation pathways to ensure that concerns are addressed appropriately.

• Remain with teams for the long haul, maintaining a sustained emphasis on maturity and providing support to other Scrum Masters throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong understanding of the Scrum Guide and Agile Manifesto; candidates should be functioning at or near an agile-coach level (not entry-level).

• This is a non-hybrid position; we seek dedicated Scrum Masters, not roles that combine responsibilities (e.g., SM/Business Analyst).

• Demonstrated experience in coaching and facilitating without authority; comfortable allowing teams to establish their own rhythm.

• Extensive knowledge of agile metrics; ability to analyze data to foster improvement and maintain team flow.

• Proficiency in scaling practices (e.g., scrum-of-scrums) and the judgement to apply them appropriately as the organization expands.

• Assurance in managing stakeholders under scrutiny and effectively escalating concerns.
