This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.
• Coach & Facilitate: Guide the team on Scrum principles and the Agile Manifesto; facilitate essential ceremonies (stand-ups, planning, reviews, retrospectives) in a hands-off manner—asking questions and facilitating rather than directing or performing the tasks.
• Empower & Enable: Foster self-managing teams by creating a safe environment that allows for failure and improvement, aiming for self-sufficiency within a few months.
• Partner with Product: Collaborate in a co-empowering relationship with the Product Owner, providing guidance on agile boundaries, backlog prioritization, and delivering value.
• Metrics & Improvement: Own agile metrics to reveal insights that promote continuous enhancement; utilize data evidence to constructively challenge unrealistic delivery timelines and safeguard team flow.
• Stakeholder Management: Handle stakeholders under executive scrutiny, confidently navigating within defined escalation pathways to ensure concerns are addressed at the appropriate level.
• Continuous Improvement: Remain with teams long-term, fostering sustained focus on maturity while supporting other Scrum Masters throughout the organization.
• Agile Expertise: Strong understanding of the Scrum Guide and Agile Manifesto; candidates should be operating at or near an agile-coach level (not entry-level).
• Pure Scrum Master Role: This is a non-hybrid position; we are seeking dedicated Scrum Masters, not roles that combine responsibilities (e.g., SM/Business Analyst).
• Coaching & Influence: Demonstrated experience in coaching and facilitating without authority; comfortable allowing teams to determine their own pace.
• Metrics Analysis: Comprehensive knowledge of agile metrics; ability to interpret data to foster improvement and maintain team flow.
• Scaling Experience: Proficient in scaling options (e.g., scrum-of-scrums) and the discernment to apply them appropriately as the organization expands.
• Stakeholder Management: Ability to confidently manage stakeholders under scrutiny and escalate issues effectively.
