Senior SAP Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete technical design and implementation of WRICEF objects, including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows across essential ERP modules that encompass manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and finance.

• Create S/4HANA-compatible solutions utilizing ABAP, CDS Views, AMDP, RAP, and OData services tailored for Fiori applications.

• Design and construct custom approval workflows (Flexible Workflow) for purchase requisitions, purchase orders, vendors/business partners, contracts, journal entries, and asset management, enhancing notifications to Fiori, SAP Inbox, and Outlook.

• Plan and develop integrations employing BAPIs, RFCs, ABAP Proxies, Web Services (SOAP/REST), OData, and ALE/PI/PO, which include SAP-to-non-SAP interfaces.

• Create enhancements using the Enhancement Framework (BADIs, User/Customer Exits, BTEs), BRF+, SD/MM routines, and FI validations/substitutions.

• Develop and maintain Smart Forms and Adobe Forms across various business functions.

• Lead version upgrades of S/4HANA, managing SPAU/SPDD activities, custom code remediation, CDS adaptations, and stabilization post-upgrade.

• Evaluate Simplification Items and SAP Readiness Check reports; address obsolete objects and phase out unused custom developments.

• Uphold code quality through ATC checks and SCI variants, and refactor custom code to conform to Clean Core principles for improved maintainability and performance.

• Manage estimation, resource planning, and offshore coordination, ensuring timely delivery of objects and change requests.

• Collaborate with functional teams on gap analysis, feasibility studies, and impact assessments, aligning solutions with enterprise architecture standards.

• Conduct code reviews, performance optimization, and quality assurance (unit, integration, UAT) for high-volume processing and data migrations.

• Direct production support efforts, delivering root-cause analysis, workarounds, and permanent solutions for critical issues while mentoring junior developers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of practical SAP ABAP development experience, with a proven track record in a technical leadership role.

• Established experience across complete life-cycle implementations, upgrades, and global rollouts.

• Strong proficiency in S/4HANA-aligned development: ABAP, CDS Views, AMDP, RAP, and OData.

• Extensive WRICEF experience covering Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows.

• Practical experience with SAP Workflow / Flexible Workflow and approval-process design.

• Strong integration capabilities utilizing BAPIs, RFCs, ABAP Proxies, Web Services, OData, and ALE/PI/PO.

• Familiarity with the Enhancement Framework (BADIs, exits, BTEs), BRF+, and SD/MM/FI configuration interfaces.

• Experience in leading S/4HANA upgrades (SPAU/SPDD, ATC remediation, Simplification Items).

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery and full SDLC, from requirements gathering through hyper-care.

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with System Integrators and manage delivery timelines.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
