Senior Sales Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.

📋 Description

• Serve as a trusted technical consultant and leader in complex security initiatives.

• Work closely with seasoned Sales Executives to guide security discussions from initial discovery through solution design, RFP defense, and customer transition.

• Shape architectural decisions, challenge outdated security methods, and connect technical selections to quantifiable risk mitigation and business results.

• Assist customers in modernizing their security operations leveraging Microsoft Defender and Sentinel as core elements.

• Evaluate customer security posture and technical needs.

• Present persuasive presentations and live demonstrations of Ontinue’s MXDR services.

• Facilitate technical workshops and architecture planning sessions.

• Take ownership of RFP responses, including customer-facing presentations related to RFPs.

• Challenge customers on outdated or disjointed security strategies with contemporary, best-practice solutions.

• Ensure a seamless transition of new customers to account management and delivery teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong technical expertise in cybersecurity, including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Sentinel, and the comprehensive Microsoft E5 security suite.

• Solid knowledge of identity security, endpoint security, cloud security, and network security.

• Experience in leading customer-focused technical discussions and workshops.

• Familiarity with the Austrian and DACH Security Operations Center (SOC) landscape.

• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities in German (native) and English.

• Ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with sales, product, and delivery teams.

• Willingness to travel for customer interactions and industry events.

• Must-have: Native German speaker; fluent in English (both written and spoken).

• Proven experience in a Solutions Engineer / Sales Engineer or a similar customer-facing technical role within IT security.

• Nice-to-have: Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
