Senior RPG Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Strategize, evaluate, and execute web and Windows software applications

• Conduct quality assurance processes, including unit testing, bug reporting, and automated alerts

• Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices while improving technical policies and standards

• Share technical expertise and process skills within project teams

• Engage in e-commerce and web development business initiatives

• Execute server/IIS configurations and manage database maintenance

• Aid in the comprehensive planning of IT projects

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of programming experience

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship

• Familiarity with Scott Klement’s HTTPLIB APIs

• Proficient in RPG IV/ILE/FREE

• Experience in creating database tables and indexes

• Knowledge of CL programming

• Skilled in creating and consuming web services

• Experience with XML or JSON file formats

• Knowledge of ILE binding and binding directories

• Familiarity with Aldon or other source management tools

• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team

• Ability to collaborate closely with users during application development and deployment

• Proven programming expertise

• Skills in analysis, planning, and implementation of web and Windows software applications

• Understanding and capability to demonstrate object-oriented programming principles

• Ability to design applications for loose coupling

• Proficient in understanding and implementing event-driven application development and multithreading

• Experience with SQL Server, including schemas, queries, and stored procedures

• Ability to write stored procedures and interact with SQL Server databases using .NET and WCF/Web API services

• Preferred: strong grasp of i-Series operations

• Preferred: experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
