This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Assist in the enhancement and support of critical business applications operating within IBM i / AS400 environments.
• Collaborate closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and project leaders to provide dependable solutions across client systems.
• Evaluate requirements, create solutions, address production challenges, and ensure applications are stable, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.
• Primarily engage with RPG, RPGLE, CL, IBM i SQL, and Synon2/E (COOL 2/E).
• Design, develop, maintain, and provide support for applications on IBM i / AS400.
• Contribute to applications that encompass Synon2/E (COOL 2/E) components.
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, which includes analysis, development, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
• Diagnose production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions to enhance application stability.
• Work collaboratively with business users, developers, analysts, and support teams across various initiatives.
• Offer support and mentoring to less experienced team members as required.
• Extensive experience in developing applications for IBM i / AS400.
• Strong practical knowledge of RPG / RPGLE.
• Familiarity with CL and IBM i SQL.
• Basic understanding of Synon2/E (COOL 2/E).
• Experience in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise applications for clients.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, encompassing development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, especially within production support settings.
• Capability to work efficiently with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively across development, maintenance, and support activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, IT, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
