Senior RPG Programmer-Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the analysis, design, development, and upkeep of critical IBM i applications.

• Assist our clients in troubleshooting application problems, identifying business requirements, and providing solutions throughout the entire project lifecycle.

• Analyze, design, program, and test software applications utilizing all versions of RPG and SQL.

• Maintain program and application integrity across various testing stages (unit, integration, smoke testing, etc.).

• Convert system architecture into comprehensive documentation, both written and visual, for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Capable of leading a small technical team when necessary.

• Help our clients modernize legacy business applications into contemporary, scalable ILE applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 20 years of demonstrated experience with the IBM i platform (iSeries/AS/400).

• Skilled in various forms of RPG (including RPGLE, free-form syntax, and embedded SQL).

• Proficient in DB2 application programming and database design.

• Strong grasp of ILE concepts (modules, service programs, binding directories).

• Experience with structured deployment and version control methodologies.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with stakeholders at various levels within the client organization.

• Familiarity with major IBM i ERPs (Infor LX, BPCS, Infor XA, MAPICS, PRMS, JDE, Frontier, HFA, etc.).

• Knowledge of Git or SVN within an IBM i setting.

• Experience utilizing impact analysis tools.

• Background in integration solutions using APIs, JSON, XML, and other tools like GoAnywhere.
