Senior RF Optimization Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Oversee RF planning, optimization, and performance enhancement for GSM, LTE, and 5G networks in the LATAM region.

• Take charge of analyzing and improving network KPIs such as accessibility, retainability, mobility, throughput, and capacity utilization.

• Assist in RAN modernization, swap, and transformation initiatives throughout the phases of planning, integration, optimization, and acceptance.

• Perform troubleshooting by utilizing network statistics, drive test data, and signaling analysis to determine root causes and implement effective solutions.

• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to align priorities, communicate potential risks, and ensure successful delivery outcomes.

• Clearly present technical findings, recommendations, and progress updates to both customers and internal stakeholders.

• Contribute to technical leadership, knowledge sharing, and the establishment of engineering best practices as the organization expands.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• 10–15 years of experience in wireless telecommunications and radio network engineering.

• Extensive hands-on experience in optimizing GSM, LTE, and 5G networks, including VoLTE optimization.

• Demonstrated experience in multi-vendor RAN environments, successfully delivering RAN swap, modernization, or transformation projects.

• Deep understanding of radio access network technologies, RF optimization techniques, mobility management, throughput enhancement, and signaling analysis.

• Practical experience with tools such as XCAL, TEMS, Actix, QXDM, Wireshark, and similar analysis platforms.

• Familiarity with LTE and 5G network architecture and protocols; experience with Open RAN, Cloud RAN, or vRAN is a plus.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills in customer-facing scenarios.

• Proficient in English, both written and verbal; experience with Huawei network equipment is highly advantageous.
