Senior Revenue Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise all aspects of club membership dues, revenue, and associated systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.

• Provide assistance to the accounting team as needed.

• Engage thoroughly in monthly revenue reconciliations and related systems.

• Prepare month-end reports for upper management review.

• Oversee the revenue recognition process for more than 80 clubs and various registration systems.

• Maintain revenue accounting operations and standard operating procedures to identify risks and ensure audit readiness.

• Collaborate with Regional Leads and Club Directors on details regarding the revenue registration program.

• Manage and mentor a staff accountant to enhance their skills.

• Act as the revenue subject matter expert for M&A targets during the onboarding process.

• Record monthly revenue across all registration platforms effectively.

• Reconcile accounts receivable and deferred revenue balances accurately.

• Analyze the P&L impact of registrations.

• Collaborate with Accounting, Operations, and FP&A teams on revenue-related inquiries following the release of monthly financial statements.

• Enhance efficiencies through system automation and integration processes.

• Monitor revenue systems and optimize data flow for improved performance.

• Test the revenue accounting system to ensure accuracy, data integrity, and compliance with accounting standards.

• Support annual external audits to maintain compliance.

• Identify process enhancements to scale and automate manual tasks.

• Assist with special projects and analyses on an ad-hoc basis.

⛳️ Requirements

• Profound understanding of US GAAP (ASC 606) revenue recognition principles.

• Experience with GL account reconciliations and preparation of workpapers.

• Proficient in evaluating revenue systems work/data flow.

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.

• Familiarity with internal controls.

• Accounting experience in a startup environment.

• Capability to work from home effectively.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.

• Over 7 years of experience in a similar role.

• Experience in the sports industry, particularly with registration systems, is preferred.

• Management experience is required.

• Familiarity with NetSuite is beneficial.

• Ability to operate a computer and utilize a keyboard, mouse, and video conferencing tools efficiently.

• Strong communication skills via video, phone, and written channels.

• Occasional travel may be necessary for site visits and events.
