This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Identify opportunities for revenue growth and diagnose obstacles for Hub client organizations.
• Design and implement revenue-focused projects, sprints, and experiments.
• Assist organizations in diversifying their revenue streams to lessen reliance on any single funding source.
• Deliver strategic presentations and revenue assessments to clients and leadership teams.
• Provide precise and actionable strategic advice based on data and industry context.
• Audit and enhance existing Hub services and documentation within your areas of focus, consistently making improvements based on new insights and experiments.
• Retire or modify services that no longer provide value with the support of the leadership team.
• Internally propose new service offerings based on findings from sprints and experiments conducted with clients.
• Manage timelines and milestones for client projects effectively.
• Coordinate and communicate with other consulting specialists and the senior director of consulting to ensure a seamless client experience.
• Share insights and knowledge internally to enhance cross-team understanding.
• Delegate relevant task work related to your sprints or projects to other Hub team members or contractors when necessary to maintain quality control.
• Act as an in-house expert in your specialized areas.
• Represent NRH at conferences, webinars, and in discussions with prospective clients.
• Help establish NRH as a leader in revenue diversification for news organizations.
• Advance sprints and projects with client organizations by monitoring timelines, communicating with clients, and documenting milestones.
• Execute high-level deliverables within your areas of focus.
• Collaborate with other Hub team members when handoffs are required or when additional support is needed beyond your direct responsibilities.
• Share insights in the Hub Slack space with other team members and clients when appropriate.
• May assist in the hiring, onboarding, training, and mentoring of employees and contractors as related to this position.
• 5+ years of experience in one or more revenue areas within journalism or nonprofits, such as membership or small dollar fundraising, major donor management, corporate philanthropy, advertising, or events.
• Proficiency with data and analytics, capable of reviewing data sets—like website traffic, revenue, and list growth—and identifying trends and opportunities while effectively communicating these insights to others.
• Proven experience in leading, developing, and executing revenue strategies in a professional setting.
• Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. Adaptability to new situations, quick problem-solving skills, and effective communication with colleagues are essential. Teamwork and resourcefulness are required, along with the confidence to seek advice when necessary.
• Ability to navigate between high-level concepts and day-to-day operations, assisting newsroom staff in doing the same.
• Demonstrated empathy, communication skills, respect, patience, and a willingness to assist others, whether it’s within the Hub, a member served, or someone else.
