This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Provide both legal and non-legal research, reference, and document retrieval services.
• Offer timely and expert-level research and reference assistance to attorneys and administrative teams across various practice areas.
• Supply strategic advice on research methods, source selection, and approaches to ensure both efficiency and accuracy.
• Actively track news, dockets, legislative and regulatory changes, and subject-specific updates, sharing insights with relevant stakeholders.
• 3-5 years of experience in legal reference and research, preferably in a mid to large law firm or a similar environment.
• MLS/MLIS degree.
• Exceptional research capabilities with a critical approach to tools and methodologies, conducting efficient and cost-effective searches, and effectively communicating findings.
• Proficient in legal, business, scientific, and general research resources, including platforms such as Westlaw, Practical Law, Lexis, Bloomberg Law, and VitalLaw.
• Familiarity with other tools like Checkpoint, Docket Navigator, and PitchBooks, with expertise in establishing current awareness and litigation alerts.
• Ability to work swiftly and accurately under pressure, complemented by excellent organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to communicate clearly and effectively with attorneys and staff.
• Maintains expert knowledge of library systems, encompassing collections, online databases, interlibrary loans, and document delivery.
