This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the design, enhancement, and execution of scalable NGS algorithms and pipelines for the identification and interpretation of intricate genomic features, such as SNVs/Indels, CNVs, STRs, methylation, trisomy, PGx variants, and variations in homologous and homopolymer regions.
• Spearhead the design and refinement of targeted NGS panels for both current and new products.
• Lead the comprehensive development, validation, benchmarking, and integration of NGS algorithms and analytical pipelines utilizing both internal and public truth datasets.
• Work in close collaboration with assay scientists, bioinformatics teams, software developers, and other stakeholders to convert biological and product requirements into computational solutions.
• Offer technical and project leadership to guarantee analytical precision, reliability, scalability, and ongoing enhancement across products.
• Assist in technology transfer, pipeline updates, and production deployment, while contributing to scientific publications, conference presentations, and intellectual property initiatives.
• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in NGS algorithm development.
• Expertise in Python, R, C++, and workflow orchestration tools.
• Comprehensive knowledge of read alignment and variant calling (e.g., BWA-MEM, minimap2, GATK, DeepVariant) for germline and/or somatic variants.
• Proficiency in CNV modeling, STR detection tools, and methylation callers.
• Experience with homologous region analysis and control gene normalization.
• Knowledge in PGx variant interpretation and allele resolution.
• Familiarity with long-read technologies (ONT, PacBio) and signal-level data.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
