This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.
• Lead a team of capital sales specialists focused on selling the Medtronic Hugo™ Robotic Assisted Surgery System, along with consumable end effectors and service.
• Oversee and mentor complex executive-level large capital sales processes.
• Conduct commercial opportunity reviews and manage the SPANCO sales methodology within the region.
• Coach and nurture the development of team members.
• Serve as the representative for the Surgical Robotics operating unit in the designated region.
• Participate in the Medtronic regional management team.
• Engage with surgeon teams and key opinion leaders to create opportunities for expanding robotic-assisted surgery.
• Develop business cases, perform total cost of ownership comparisons, and conduct cost-per-procedure analyses for hospital budget-holders and executives.
• Structure and design presentations, pitches, proposals, and contracts.
• Act as the lead negotiator during complex negotiations and finalize contracts.
• Promote and sell Medtronic medical/scientific equipment products and services within the assigned geographic area and customer accounts.
• Cultivate, establish, and strengthen relationships with hospitals, physicians, and Radiology and Surgical personnel.
• Pursue leads, evaluate needs, and provide product services accordingly.
• Conduct and/or assess market research on customer and competitor activities.
• Develop and execute market development plans and strategies.
• Gather customer feedback on new or modified products and relay it to R&D, Operations, and Marketing.
• Travel 50–75% throughout the region.
• Report to the US Director of Sales for the United States.
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• At least 7 years of capital sales experience in a healthcare setting and a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of capital sales experience and a minimum of 2 years in people leadership.
• Candidates must reside within the California, Arizona, Colorado, and Texas markets.
• Proximity to a major airport within the specified region is preferred.
• A valid driver's license is necessary.
• Proven experience in building and leading sales teams through long-cycle negotiations.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit top talent, set cultural expectations of excellence, and foster the development of others.
• Expert knowledge of open, minimally invasive, and robotic-assisted surgery techniques.
• Ability to formulate strategic plans and align them with lead/lag measures for success.
• Capability to convey complex ideas with clarity, logic, and a focus on the audience.
• For degrees obtained outside the United States, a degree meeting 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required upon hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not available for positions below Principal level.
