Senior React Native Engineer

📋 Description

• Design tactile, gesture-based interactions such as mystery pack openings, loot-box carousel displays, card flips, and real-time drop notifications utilizing React Native Reanimated, Gesture Handler, and Skia.

• Enhance frame rates and native performance across both iOS and Android platforms by resolving thread bottlenecks, reducing dropped frames, optimizing view hierarchies, and preventing memory leaks.

• Develop robust mobile query pipelines with GraphQL and TanStack Query, incorporating optimistic cache updates, pagination, handling network outages, and managing reconnection during live unboxing events.

• Oversee complete deployment processes for the Apple App Store and Google Play, including TestFlight, provisioning profiles, navigating store reviews, testing tracks, ensuring policy compliance, Expo (EAS), fastlane, Sentry, and over-the-air updates.

• Utilize React Native New Architecture features, such as Fabric and TurboModules, while creating custom native modules or haptic feedback where JavaScript bridges may hinder performance.

• Drive the engineering of Pack.com’s iOS and Android mobile applications from development phases to app store launch as a proactive individual contributor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven production experience in developing and maintaining cross-platform mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript, with direct contributions to apps that have been released on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.

• Extensive hands-on experience with React Native Reanimated (worklets, shared values) and Gesture Handler.

• Familiarity with Shopify React Native Skia or custom canvas shaders is a significant plus.

• Proficiency in profiling actual devices using Xcode Instruments, Android Studio Profiler, and React Native DevTools to identify UI/JS thread contention and excessive memory usage.

• Comprehensive understanding of GraphQL and TanStack Query (React Query) for effectively managing client caching, race conditions, mutations, and handling offline/reconnection states in unstable mobile environments.

• Practical experience in managing builds and submissions through Apple App Store Connect and the Google Play Console, alongside configuring crash monitoring (Sentry) and over-the-air (OTA) updates.

• Dedicated individual contributor ready to write production-quality code, optimize performance, and deliver releases within a focused engineering team, free from people management responsibilities.
