Senior React Native Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Create high-quality, cross-platform applications using React Native and TypeScript, developing reusable UI components and efficient lists (e.g., FlashList) that adhere to design specifications.

• Connect to backend services through RESTful APIs and WebSockets, troubleshooting platform-specific challenges using Xcode and Android Studio.

• Write or adjust native Swift/Kotlin modules as necessary.

• Advocate for code quality by producing clean, testable TypeScript code and engaging in peer code reviews.

• Enhance the overall health of the codebase by addressing technical debt, increasing test coverage, and guiding scalable architectural choices related to state management (e.g., Redux Toolkit, Zustand, and navigation).

• Track app stability and address crashes utilizing tools like Sentry or Crashlytics while optimizing frame rates, memory consumption, and battery life.

• Oversee CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless App Store and Google Play releases, effectively translating technical constraints into practical solutions for non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience, with a minimum of 4 years dedicated specifically to React Native.

• Strong expertise in TypeScript, contemporary React patterns (Hooks), and the React Native ecosystem (CLI, Hermes).

• Comprehensive knowledge of iOS/Android build systems (Gradle, Pods, signing) and the ability to read and write Swift/Kotlin for debugging purposes.

• Demonstrated capability to make and justify scalable architectural decisions using state management libraries (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or TanStack Query).

• Practical experience with unit/integration testing (Jest) and end-to-end testing (Maestro or Detox).

• Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to diverse teams.

• Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher proficiency in English (both written and spoken).

• Experience with Next.js is a strong plus, although a solid foundation in React and a willingness to learn are acceptable.
