Senior Rail Structures Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the structural analysis and design of railroad bridges and associated structures for various transportation initiatives.

• Prepare and evaluate engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports to guarantee quality and precision.

• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other engineering personnel.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create innovative and practical design solutions.

• Assist with project planning by contributing to scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.

• Perform quality control reviews and ensure adherence to relevant design standards, codes, and client specifications.

• Work closely with clients, contractors, railroads, and regulatory bodies throughout the project lifecycle.

• Support business development efforts, including proposal writing, client relationship management, and identifying future project opportunities.

• Keep detailed project documentation, encompassing design files, calculations, correspondence, and technical deliverables.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

• At least 8 years of pertinent experience in railroad bridge and structure design projects.

• In-depth knowledge of railroad bridge design principles, structural analysis, and industry standards.

• Proven experience in leading technical design initiatives and coordinating project outputs.

• Outstanding communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

• Demonstrated capability in building and sustaining strong client relationships.

• Professional Engineering (P.E.) license is mandatory.

• Familiarity with MicroStation, RISA 3D, and Bluebeam Revu.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as needed.
