Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +29 more states.

📋 Description

• Create, document, implement, and sustain detailed test plans and test cases, ranging from component-level testing to User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Conduct manual smoke, sanity, regression, and UAT testing.

• Develop and upkeep automated test scripts utilizing Selenium or Playwright.

• Evaluate new and existing application functionalities for reliability, defect-free performance, and intended operation.

• Perform back-end and database testing, which includes creating test data and writing as well as executing SQL queries.

• Analyze business and technical requirements to pinpoint gaps, inconsistencies, risks, and testing needs.

• Collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, business stakeholders, and QA professionals throughout the development lifecycle.

• Identify, document, report, troubleshoot, and validate software defects and their resolutions.

• Engage in Agile Scrum ceremonies and support testing throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Develop and present QA metrics, such as test coverage and test confidence.

• Enhance test automation practices and evaluate when manual testing offers the most effective coverage.

• Act as a senior technical resource by providing guidance and coaching on QA automation.

• Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager to offer leadership and direction across QA initiatives.

• Manage competing priorities and projects in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software Quality Assurance and testing.

• Strong background in both manual and automated software testing.

• Proficient in white-box and black-box testing methodologies.

• Proven experience performing smoke, sanity, regression, and User Acceptance Testing.

• Practical experience in developing and maintaining automated test scripts with Selenium or Playwright.

• More than 3 years of experience in database testing, including the capability to read, write, and execute SQL queries.

• At least 3 years of experience in an Agile software development environment.

• Over 3 years of experience testing multi-tier client/server applications.

• Familiarity with software development frameworks, application architecture concepts, and software engineering terminology.

• Experience with Azure DevOps and/or Microsoft Visual Studio Team System.

• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex software issues, alongside analytical and deductive reasoning capabilities.

• Proven ability to work independently with minimal direction while effectively collaborating within cross-functional teams.

• Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Willingness and ability to mentor other QA professionals in automation testing techniques and practices.
