Lead QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance vital Playwright UI and API automation.

• Advance shared automation methodologies, standards, and quality controls across teams.

• Serve as the main technical point of contact for issues related to unstable suites, CI bottlenecks, test data and environment challenges, as well as critical-path regressions.

• Establish and refine test data and environment frameworks to ensure dependable CI/CD scaling.

• Provide guidance on API, component-level, and E2E testing strategies, coverage, and automation decisions.

• Mentor QA engineers on Playwright, CI, and AI-assisted workflows.

• Advocate for reusable quality practices across teams.

• Collaborate with DevOps and developers on shift-left testing, pipeline reliability, Docker, and sustainable test environments.

• Articulate quality trade-offs and risks to product and engineering leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in QA/test engineering with a focus on evolving Playwright automation for large, long-term SaaS products.

• Proficient in Playwright for UI and API testing.

• Skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Python.

• Extensive daily use of AI-assisted development for test design, failure analysis, and coaching.

• Sound judgment regarding the necessity of human verification.

• Capability to identify and resolve systemic quality challenges, including issues related to parallelism, test data, flakiness, and pipeline architecture.

• Strong CI/CD background in running and optimizing automated test suites.

• Experience with Docker in cloud-based delivery environments.

• Proven track record in defining automation architecture and quality standards applicable across multiple squads.

• Excellent command of English.

• Established credibility with developers, architects, and leadership on matters of risk and priorities.
