Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +27 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop risk-based testing strategies that align with the squad's architecture.

• Facilitate quality discussions during scrum ceremonies.

• Question defect priorities and enhance quality practices.

• Design and implement tests for front-end UI, APIs, backend services, and data pipelines.

• Validate transformations, service outputs, and complex logic on a large scale.

• Determine what, when, and how to automate testing processes.

• Utilize Playwright and scripting to create reliable and maintainable automated checks.

• Mentor team members and elevate team-wide quality standards.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design teams.

• Participate in recruitment and professional development efforts.

• Take ownership of quality throughout the entire process as the testing expert within a cross-functional squad.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in software testing.

• Hands-on experience across the entire stack, including API testing, backend and data-intensive systems, and front-end validation.

• Expertise in automation frameworks like Playwright.

• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript.

• Experience owning quality for a squad and leading end-to-end testing initiatives.

• Ability to set success criteria and develop methodologies that significantly reduce production risk.

• Capability to analyze complex issues to identify root causes, back findings with data, and measure results.

• User-centered testing methodology.

• Regular use of AI tools for generating test cases, diagnosing failures, documenting, and managing other workflow tasks.

• Preferred: knowledge of load, stress, and scalability testing concepts and tools such as JMeter.

• Preferred: enthusiasm for or experience in Basketball, American Football, or Ice Hockey.

• Preferred: bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
