This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop test coverage aligned with project risk and effectively communicate coverage decisions and trade-offs to both the team and the client.
• Engage in backlog refinement and story shaping, contributing to the formulation of testable acceptance criteria prior to the commencement of development.
• Design test cases for user stories and features in collaboration with the agile team.
• Collaborate with developers throughout each sprint to identify issues early, clearly reproduce defects, and work together on resolutions.
• Conduct hands-on testing against acceptance criteria throughout the duration of each project.
• Organize regression testing and scheduled client testing, utilizing automation where applicable.
• Maintain visibility of quality status for leads, product owners, and clients, ensuring it is kept current.
• Assess mid-project changes for their impact on testing activities.
• Estimate QA efforts, accurately track time, and identify conflicts between test coverage and budget constraints.
• Enhance QA processes for increased efficiency and reliability.
• Investigate and implement AI-assisted testing tools and methodologies.
• Direct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with clients, articulating quality status and risk to non-technical stakeholders.
• Take ownership of quality assurance for complex, data-driven, web-based applications and websites throughout the agile software development lifecycle.
• Proven experience as a Quality Engineer on an agile development team, responsible for test strategy and execution across the entire project lifecycle.
• Ability to discern where automation provides value versus where hands-on testing is a more effective approach.
• Experience in creating comprehensive test plans and test cases, adjusting coverage as requirements evolve.
• Strong foundational knowledge of websites, web applications, APIs, databases, mobile applications, Windows applications, and cloud systems.
• Capacity to manage multiple client projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with working within defined budgets or billable-hours frameworks.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a knack for identifying practical solutions to quality challenges in collaboration with teammates.
• Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• Preferred experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, or other agile work tools.
• Preferred experience with AI applications in test design, test data generation, or defect analysis.
• Preferred experience in test automation, particularly with Playwright.
• Preferred experience planning tests for large-scale projects.
• Previous consulting experience is preferred.
• Preferred knowledge of Microsoft stack technologies such as C#, .NET, SQL Server, and Azure.
• Preferred experience with content management systems like Umbraco.
• Preferred background in software development.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
