Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.

📋 Description

• AI-Driven Test Design & Automation

• Utilize AI tools to create, evaluate, and enhance automated test cases, minimizing manual test authoring wherever feasible and significantly broadening coverage without a corresponding increase in effort.

• Employ AI-assisted analysis to gain insights into code flow, component interactions, and edge cases, ensuring that automation suites mirror real-world usage scenarios rather than merely focusing on positive outcomes.

• Construct and uphold automation test suites across Mobile, Desktop, and Web platforms using frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Robot Framework, or Tricentis Tosca, enhanced by AI to expedite framework setup and test scaffolding.

• Utilize AI tools to uncover deficiencies in current test coverage, prioritize areas of high risk, and consistently enhance the depth and reliability of automation suites.

• AI-Augmented Bug Detection & Reporting

• Leverage AI-powered analysis to examine user issues, identify patterns in defect data, and reveal systemic quality concerns that manual reviews might overlook.

• Create and oversee bug reporting with AI-assisted summarization and root cause categorization, minimizing manual documentation efforts while enhancing the quality of defect reports.

• Utilize exploratory testing techniques supported by AI to discover edge cases and unforeseen behaviors beyond scripted test scenarios.

• CI/CD Integration & Quality Gatekeeping

• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, employing AI tools to monitor test outcomes, highlight regressions, and suggest pipeline adjustments based on quality trends.

• Act as a guardian of final software release quality, utilizing AI-generated quality dashboards and trend analysis to guide go/no-go decisions with data rather than instinct.

• Develop and maintain status reporting and informative dashboards regarding all testing activities, using AI to automate report generation and highlight meaningful insights.

• Collaboration & Agile Participation

• Engage in backlog refinement to assist in designing test cases, checklists, and test plans, utilizing AI to swiftly generate draft test scenarios from user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with deployment teams to resolve issues, contribute to product design, and enhance the testability of both functional and non-functional requirements.

• Manage technical communications across teams with a solid understanding of overall system behavior and quality standards.

• Investigate test tools, methodologies, and AI-driven QA trends; continually assess and adopt emerging capabilities that enhance team efficiency and product quality.

• API & Advanced Testing

• Apply advanced API testing expertise using Postman or similar frameworks, employing AI to generate and validate API test scenarios from specifications.

• Utilize BDD principles and AI-assisted scenario generation to align automated tests with business intent and customer outcomes.

• Conduct ad hoc and SQL-based testing as required to validate data integrity and application behavior.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 6 years of QA experience testing and automating Mobile and Web applications.

• More than 4 years of Agile and DevOps experience.

• Proven, hands-on experience using AI tools to generate test cases, expand automation coverage, or expedite QA workflows, with specific examples to discuss.

• Expert-level knowledge in automated test design and Object-Oriented Design principles.

• Advanced understanding of automation frameworks: Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Robot Framework, or Tricentis Tosca.

• Advanced knowledge of API testing, with experience using Postman or comparable tools.

• Advanced understanding of CI/CD processes and pipeline integration.

• Strong knowledge of BDD principles and exploratory testing techniques.

• Proficiency in Python, Java, and/or JavaScript.

• Good understanding of SQL and database testing.

• Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and self-organization skills.

• High proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
