Senior QA Automation Engineer, Playwright, RestSharp

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement the quality strategy for the squad.

• Ensure continuous verification of business rules, regulated integrations, and essential user journeys within the delivery pipeline through dependable, traceable, and maintainable testing.

• Establish the testing strategy for Wave 1 and allocate responsibilities across unit, integration, contract, API, UI, E2E, security, and regression testing.

• Convert acceptance criteria and business rules into scenarios for positive, negative, exception, concurrency, idempotency, and reprocessing.

• Construct and uphold UI and E2E test automation using Playwright.

• Create and manage API and integration tests utilizing RestSharp, covering aspects such as authentication, headers, contracts, status codes, payloads, errors, and correlation.

• Integrate tests into CI/CD processes and set up quality gates that prevent merges or deployments if specific objective criteria are not satisfied.

• Validate API contracts, version compatibility, asynchronous messaging, and integrations with external systems or controlled mocks.

• Develop a masked, deterministic, and reusable test-data strategy in compliance with Brazil’s LGPD data protection law.

• Implement isolation, setup/teardown, parallel execution, controlled retries, and evidence collection while maintaining stability in masking.

• Monitor flakiness, execution duration, risk-based coverage, and defect escape rates.

• Review and verify test scenarios produced by AI agents; identify gaps, false positives, and tests that are fragile.

• Assist in defining the Definition of Done, acceptance criteria, review checklists, and quality standards.

• Investigate failures using logs, traces, screenshots, videos, payloads, and execution correlations.

• Engage in refinement sessions to foresee risks and ensure requirements are testable prior to development.

• Maintain documentation that encompasses the test strategy, execution, and interpretation of quality gates.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level experience in software QA and automation for web applications and APIs.

• Practical expertise with Playwright for web testing, E2E journeys, fixtures, locators, assertions, evidence collection, and CI execution.

• Proficient with RestSharp for API test automation in .NET.

• C#/.NET knowledge sufficient for developing, reviewing, and debugging automation.

• Experience with contract, integration, regression, API, E2E, and data validation testing.

• Familiarity with configuring tests in pipelines and establishing objective pass/fail and blocking criteria.

• Understanding of the test pyramid, risk assessment, flakiness prevention, and data quality.

• Experience with Git, pull requests, and close collaboration with engineering and product teams.

• Ability to operate in a regulated environment with masked data, access segregation, and auditable evidence.

• Nice to have: experience with messaging tests using Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS, or similar technologies.

• Nice to have: background in resilience, performance, security, and accessibility testing.

• Nice to have: familiarity with WireMock, Testcontainers, Pact, or similar tools.

• Nice to have: knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.

• Nice to have: experience in banking, credit, payments, receivables, or financial integrations.

• Nice to have: experience validating workflows involving AI agents and reviewing tests generated automatically.

• Nice to have: knowledge of observability and log/trace analysis.
