Senior QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and develop scalable test automation frameworks for banking APIs, core banking integrations, backend services, and comprehensive token transaction flows (including token issuance, redemption, and payments) that connect bank-side systems with Cari’s blockchain and associated infrastructure.

• Utilize AI tools to establish and maintain test automation suites.

• Execute automated testing for banking and blockchain integrations, covering functional, edge-case, failure-mode, and error-handling validations.

• Embed automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid, reliable releases with high assurance.

• Design performance, load, and stress tests for high-throughput, real-time transaction systems.

• Develop testing strategies for distributed systems, encompassing event-driven workflows, asynchronous processing, and integrations based on bank files and messages.

• Collaborate with DevOps and backend teams to enhance observability, test environments, and release safety.

• Establish quality metrics, dashboards, and release gates that adhere to banking compliance, operational risk, and audit standards.

• Promote best practices for QA automation, such as shift-left testing, test data management, and deterministic test design.

• Engage in architecture and design reviews to guarantee testability, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and risk reduction from the outset.

• Carry out additional quality assurance responsibilities as required by the QA organization and the company.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in QA automation or quality engineering, particularly in regulated financial settings.

• Proven experience utilizing AI tools like Cursor AI and Claude for developing automated tests and fulfilling other QA-related tasks in daily operations (e.g., test scenarios, test cases, design, presentation, etc.).

• Prior hands-on experience in a banking environment, with a core banking provider, or in a regulated financial institution is essential.

• Strong comprehension of banking systems, payment infrastructures, and financial operations.

• Extensive experience in testing banking APIs, payment processing systems, and third-party bank integrations.

• Proficient programming skills in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar languages utilized for test automation.

• Practical experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., PyTest, Playwright, Cypress, Jest, Mocha, or comparable tools).

• Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines within cloud environments (AWS preferred).

• In-depth knowledge of banking compliance and control frameworks (e.g., SOC 1/2, SOX, PCI DSS, FFIEC, internal controls).

• Experience in validating audit requirements, data lineage, reconciliation, and the accuracy of financial reporting.

• Familiarity with negative testing, failure scenarios, and operational risk mitigation.

• Exceptional collaboration abilities with engineering, product, risk & compliance, and security teams.

• Capability to independently define quality standards and serve as a gatekeeper for production readiness.
