Senior QA Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Implementation of QA architecture to operationalize across mobile (Flutter, iOS, Android), web (front-end and browser-based), backend/API services, and IoT/connected device platforms, in accordance with the standards established by the COE Solution Architecture leadership.

• Execution of test automation solutions for Flutter-based and native mobile applications, encompassing functional UI testing, device compatibility, network simulation, accessibility, offline behavior, and deep-link validation.

• Deployment of test automation solutions for web applications that include functional UI, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility (WCAG), and validation of responsive design.

• Provision of testing solutions for backend services, including API contract testing, integration testing, data validation, and service virtualization.

• Implementation of QA solutions for IoT and connected device platforms, which covers onboard ship systems, crew-facing devices, and guest-facing hardware endpoints.

• Facilitation of hands-on adoption of AI-driven testing capabilities across all domains.

• Contribution to QA COE framework documentation, onboarding materials, and runbooks to ensure that adopted tooling and patterns are well-documented and repeatable.

• Mentorship of mid-level QA engineers; participation in communities of practice and internal enablement sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software quality engineering, with a minimum of 3 years in a QA architecture or senior technical lead position.

• Demonstrated expertise in implementing automation frameworks across two or more of the following areas: mobile, web, backend/API, or IoT/connected devices.

• Practical experience with Appium and Java for mobile test automation, including framework design, scripting, and maintenance.

• Hands-on experience with Flutter testing, utilizing flutter_test, integration_test, and widget testing.

• Proficiency with Playwright for web test automation and strategies for cross-browser testing.

• Direct experience with BrowserStack (App Automate and/or Automate), including configuring capabilities, executing parallel test suites, and integrating with CI/CD pipelines.

• Practical experience with the Karate Framework for API functional and contract testing.

• Hands-on experience with Gatling for backend performance and load testing, which includes scenario scripting and pipeline integration.

• Understanding of IoT or embedded systems testing concepts, connectivity protocols (MQTT, BLE), or device integration testing.

• Strong grasp of CI/CD practices and experience in integrating automated tests into pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Fastlane, or similar).

• Practical application of AI/ML tools or LLM-assisted workflows within a QA environment.

• Proficiency in Java and Dart, with familiarity in at least one additional programming language (Python, Kotlin, Swift, or JavaScript/TypeScript).

• Solid knowledge of Agile/SAFe delivery methodologies and quality engineering practices in agile teams.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; capable of contributing to and presenting technical documentation to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
