Senior Python Engineer, Wallet

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Assume complete responsibility for backend features and enhancements, overseeing the entire process from design to implementation, deployment, and ongoing production support.

• Create, develop, and sustain scalable, high-performance backend services utilizing Python and Django, incorporating asynchronous components where necessary.

• Develop unit and integration tests to guarantee system reliability, avert regressions, and enhance overall test coverage and testing methodologies.

• Estimate the software development effort required for features and long-term technical projects.

• Work collaboratively with product, QA, and engineering teams to transform requirements into precisely defined technical solutions.

• Engage in code reviews, contribute to elevating engineering quality, and participate in making technical decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of development experience, with Python as the primary programming language.

• Extensive experience in building production backend systems using Django and asynchronous Python (asyncio).

• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and concurrency concepts.

• Experience in architectural design for highly loaded and scalable solutions.

• Practical experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL), including crafting complex SQL queries, schema design, migrations, and performance optimization.

• Familiarity with Redis for caching and managing state in distributed systems.

• In-depth understanding of the development lifecycle, from requirement analysis and deployment to application monitoring.

• Openness to participating in on-call rotations.
