Senior Python Engineer, DataFeed Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain Python services for the ingestion, transformation, and distribution of sports data.

• Integrate with external sports data providers while managing variances in provider models, formats, and update methods.

• Create robust pipelines for processing data in both near real-time and batch formats.

• Enhance data validation, reconciliation, monitoring, alerting, and replay tools.

• Investigate production challenges, trace data issues, and enhance system observability.

• Collaborate effectively with backend, product, trading, QA, and platform teams to ensure reliable data flows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of substantial production experience with Python.

• Proven experience in designing and managing backend services in a production environment.

• Strong expertise in Django, along with skills in asynchronous programming (asyncio).

• Production experience with Apache Kafka.

• Comprehensive understanding of APIs, distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and data pipelines.

• Proficient SQL skills and experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.

• Experience with integrating external APIs, feeds, or third-party data sources.

• Ability to carefully consider data accuracy, edge cases, and potential failure scenarios.

• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, alerting, and debugging in production systems.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and comfort in conducting code reviews.

• Willingness to engage in on-call rotations.
