Senior Python Developer, Forecast, Economics Teams

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Creating production-quality backend services using contemporary Python;

• Developing and refining REST or gRPC APIs;

• Handling structured datasets and enhancing analytical capabilities;

• Designing and optimizing MongoDB schemas and queries;

• Delivering features from technical scoping through to production rollout;

• Ensuring quality through testing, CI/CD processes, containerization, and code reviews;

• Participating in technical decision-making within the oil and energy sector.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of commercial software development experience, with significant production expertise in Python, type annotations, and async/await;

• Proficient in using pandas, NumPy, or similar tools for structured data analysis and processing;

• Practical experience with FastAPI and/or Flask, in addition to REST or gRPC API design;

• Production experience in GCP as the primary cloud environment, especially with Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and GCS;

• Solid understanding of MongoDB, including schema design, indexing, and aggregation pipelines;

• Experience in delivering backend features for cloud-based SaaS solutions;

• Strong testing proficiency with pytest;

• Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Docker, Docker Compose, and Bash;

• Knowledge of modern Python tooling and code quality practices, such as uv, ruff, and pyright;

• Excellent ownership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
