Senior Python Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Create and develop backend services and APIs utilizing Python from the ground up.

• Implement, manage, and resolve issues with Bloomberg API integrations to ensure dependable market data acquisition.

• Design and oversee the application's data layer employing PostgreSQL and SQL.

• Utilize Snowflake as the cloud data warehouse solution.

• Facilitate and enhance the platform's infrastructure within the Microsoft Azure environment.

• Engineer backend components with a focus on scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance.

• Diagnose technical and integration challenges in close partnership with engineering stakeholders.

• Engage in code reviews and contribute to the maintenance of engineering quality and best practices.

• Collaborate in real-time with the engineering team during U.S. East Coast business hours.

• Play a role in the platform's growth as it advances beyond the initial MVP.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive professional experience with Python, especially in backend and API development.

• Practical experience with integrating the Bloomberg API.

• Profound knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL.

• Experience in designing and developing backend systems and APIs in live production environments.

• Capability to operate efficiently in a greenfield setting, where architecture and infrastructure are being constructed from scratch.

• Strong skills in debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.

• Ability to collaborate directly with technical stakeholders while maintaining a high level of autonomy.

• Willingness to consistently work during U.S. East Coast hours due to daily live collaboration with the client team.

• Proficient English communication skills.

• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure.

• Knowledge of JavaScript.

• Previous experience in capital markets, investment management, hedge funds, financial services, or market data products.

• Interest in AI/ML and the development of AI-driven financial applications as the platform evolves.
