Senior Python, Cloud Infrastructure, AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Create and sustain applications utilizing Python, Django, and the Django REST Framework

• Develop APIs, background workers, integrations, and AWS Lambda functions

• Provide support for legacy Python applications and environments using Python 3.x

• Oversee AWS services, Linux environments, application servers, and deployments

• Ensure infrastructure automation with SaltStack, Packer, Docker, and the Serverless Framework

• Construct and enhance Jenkins-based CI/CD and release pipelines

• Boost system reliability through monitoring, canary deployments, rollbacks, retries, and recovery strategies

• Manage databases, messaging, authentication, security, and integrations with external services

• Handle Python dependencies, runtime environments, package builds, and ensure reproducible deployments

• Employ AI tools for code analysis, development, refactoring, troubleshooting, and documentation

• Evaluate AI-generated outputs through human review, security assessments, and engineering validation

• Collaborate effectively with frontend, product, QA, and platform engineering teams

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering

• In-depth knowledge of Python, Django, and the Django REST Framework

• Practical AWS experience, especially with Lambda and event-driven services

• Familiarity with managing Linux-based application environments

• Comprehensive understanding of CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker, deployment automation, and production support

• Experience with SaltStack or similar configuration-management tools

• Proficient in MySQL or RDS, REST APIs, queues, authentication, TLS, and application security

• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants, LLMs, or AI-driven engineering workflows

• Excellent debugging, problem-solving, communication, and ownership abilities

• Experience with Python 2-to-3 upgrades and managing dependencies

• Familiarity with Ubuntu or Amazon Linux, Packer, AMIs, Gunicorn, Nginx, Apache, or systemd

• Knowledge of AWS services such as S3, SQS, SNS, SES, Kinesis, IAM, Route 53, and CloudFront

• Experience with messaging, notifications, GIS, XML, cryptography, or third-party API integrations

• Proficient in secure development, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and production observability

• Experience in supporting high-availability or business-critical systems
