Senior Property Resolution Specialist – Property Claims Field Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Investigate, assess, estimate, and manage property claims that primarily necessitate in-person interactions and on-site evaluations.

• Manage both personal and commercial property losses, including structural damage, contents, Additional Living Expenses (ALE), scheduled property, and business income losses.

• Address inquiries related to property coverage.

• Handle property-related lawsuits with limited scope, which may involve attending pre-trials, mediations, arbitrations, or trials as necessary.

• Conduct inspections and prepare moderate to large property estimates utilizing estimating guides and software.

• Assist in evaluating risk for residential and commercial properties.

• Verify insurance values, assess coinsurance penalties, and identify any changes or increased risks.

• Support inside property specialists with diagrams, photographs, in-person statements, and property inspections.

• Adhere to claims policies and procedures concerning communication, coverage verification, liability assessment, loss investigations, claims valuation, documentation, reports, negotiation, and settlement.

• Provide assistance in managing catastrophe claims across the company's operational territory, which may involve overnight travel or extended stays upon request.

• Participate in claims and other integrated company teams as assigned.

• Climb roofs and conduct other field-based inspections.

• Maintain ongoing communication with agents, sales representatives, marketing, and underwriting teams.

• Report to the Manager of Property Claims.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience as an Encova Insurance Property Resolution Specialist or a similar role within the industry.

• Internal candidates must have received an overall performance rating of at least "Meets Expectations" in the past two annual performance evaluations.

• Proven skills and competencies as outlined in the Property Resolution Specialist job description.

• Strong judgment in decision-making processes.

• Excellent communication abilities and strong interpersonal skills.

• Maintain positive and professional relationships with colleagues, peers, agents, sales representatives, underwriters, marketing personnel, and the public.

• Effective negotiation skills.

• Proficient setup and monitoring of all claims.

• In-depth knowledge of claims settlement techniques.

• Familiarity with Encova’s personal and commercial policy offerings.

• Awareness of current legal rulings impacting claims handling.

• Knowledge of regional office and company policies, procedures, and best practices.

• A college degree or equivalent in insurance or business is mandatory.

• Must obtain and retain all necessary adjuster licenses.

• Residency in Northeast Ohio is required.

• Ability to investigate and resolve a minimum average of 30 elements per month.

• Ongoing insurance education through IIA, CPCU, or another accredited insurance education provider is preferred.
